Today’s consumers need comfort, and what could be more cheerful than a baked dessert? Next week we celebrate National Blueberry Cheesecake Day and National Cherry Dessert Day on May 26 — isn’t there a national observance day for just about any food imaginable? These days are coming at the perfect time, and whether your retail bakery is open, available for carry out or is delivering these desserts to smiling faces, one thing is for sure: you’re on trend.
To celebrate 100 years of baking, Dawn Foods took a look at consumer behavior data, hoping for a better understanding of how baking industry servicers can help serve their customers even better. Eight trends emerged, “Blissful Indulgence” along with “Just for Me” topped the list. More than half of consumers want classic desserts “with a twist,” citing birthday cakes and fruit-based flavors as some of their favorite indulgences. One in five consumers not only would love to have more personalization in their desserts, but 20% of those polled said they’d pay a premium for a just-for-me type of treat.
Personalization comes easy with cherry cookies. Your commercial bakery can choose a favorite cherry cookie recipe and personalize them according to customer with monograms, edible photographs or your very own personalization — an edible custom bakery logo. Don’t forget LloydPan Cookie Sheets. They’re built to last, reliable and produce consistent baking results each and every time.
Blueberry and cherry are vibrant, dessert-friendly fruits that offer sweet, delicious flavors, but also unmistakable color. Almost half of North American millennials said that cakes and pastries that possess multiple colors and are visually interesting “are more premium.” Something photographable for social media purposes is a demand in today’s world, especially when dessert lovers are wanting to connect to larger audiences that can’t necessarily taste, touch, smell or share in happy moments in person.
