Baking Project: King Cake

Happy New Year from LloydPans! As usual, the holidays at a baking and pizza pan manufacturer are quite hectic. Our commercial customers placed quite a few last minute orders before the end of the year, and our consumer customers were buying individual pans and cookware for presents. Needless to say, December was busy, busy, busy!

We didn’t get much of a break, but we were able to take some time off to relax, recharge and celebrate the season. However, we’re already back at it. Our plant in Spokane Valley, Washington is humming, and our team is making the best pizza and baking pans in the world, all made in the USA!

To kick-off the year, we asked our team to make a few New Year’s Resolutions for 2018. Here they are.

Resolution: To continue to focus a significant amount of our efforts on innovation

2017 was a big year for us in terms of innovation, and we don’t plan to stop in 2018. Last year saw the introduction of several new products, including our much written about Perforated Detroit Pizza Pans. This was a line extension of our popular line of Detroit Pizza pans, which we launched in 2016 and received a recommendation from Serious Eats last year.

We also were thrilled to launch a complete line of Flat Bread Pans and a new pan to make Grandma Pizzas. Both of these products went through extensive testing to determine the perfect construction, coating and baking process.

Resolution: Expand our custom pan and equipment capabilities

Our team of food solutions experts loves building custom pans and foodservice equipment, and we had a couple of great projects in 2017. Our favorite, and most challenging, had to be a collapsible rolling rack cart. A customer was short on space and noticed that its rack carts took up quite a bit of room when not in use. We went to the drawing board and challenged ourselves to develop a collapsible rack that did not sacrifice durability. Mission accomplished.

We also worked on a fun project that featured a strap pan with heart molds laid out in a 3×5 configuration. If you’re interested in checking out our custom capabilities, start here.

Resolution: Continue to manufacturer our pans in the USA

We love that we’re able to manufacturer pans in the USA. It allows us to employ a great team and improve our local and national economy. It also helps our customers receive their orders quicker and with less hassle. From our sales and customer service team to our pan manufacturing team, rest assured that everyone at LloydPans will remain dedicated to making the best pans in the world in 2018!
